Weeknotes #1

Another busy week (albeit not with paid work…) ending with a manic weekend in London.

  • Themed the c3voc streaming website for EMF 2024 - a bit of CSS wrangling to make the page that will host the livestreams for EMF look more in keeping with our theme this year.

  • Setup the content submission system for projectors and screens around the EMF site. This will allow attendees to submit their own projects/content as static images or short videos and have them shown on the projectors in stages and on screens around site (hopefully). I took the system used at Congress and made a few tweaks/updates.

  • Built some rack cases for EMF Video Team with folks from Hacks ‘R’ Us out of some scrap plywood at a friendly scenery workshop. For some improvisational woodworking they turned out pretty well. I laser cut some logo stencils out of mylar and spray painted through them. This turned out a little less well but it kinda adds to the aesthetic.

  • On friday night, we drove out east of London to try to catch the Aurora Borealis that had been visible in the south of England due to the big ol’ solar storm. We missed the peak but with some dark sky were still able to catch some pretty cool (long exposure) photos.
